Free Technical Trainings

ERATE season is winding down, you’ve got new network gear headed your direction. And chances are, some of you are getting some gear that you’ve never seen or configured before. We decided to compile a quick list of free, vendor-provided training that will get you off the ground and ready to go with your new gear. 

Cisco Meraki https://learning.Meraki.net

Once you’re on the site, you’ll need to sign in with your Cisco account or create one if you haven’t already. Once you’re in, there’s a myriad of courses offered from intro to the Meraki platform – all the way through Cisco Meraki certification courses (through training partners).

Extreme Networks https://academy.extremenetworks.com

Most courses in Extreme’s academy can be found directly on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/c/ExtremeNetworks/playlists. You can subscribe and watch the courses to achieve your certification. Especially notable is the Welcome Series which will introduce you to the basics of the Extreme platform. 

Fortinet https://training.Fortinet.com

Fortinet arranges their training by Network Security Expert (NSE) Levels 1-8. The training is free. NSE 1-3 are basic cyber security awareness trainings. These could be used by anyone in your organization. Stepping up a few levels, the NSE 4 covers the basics of configuring a FortiGate, and finally, the NSE 7 and 8 recognize comprehensive knowledge of network security design, configuration and troubleshooting of complex networks. HP/Aruba HP Aruba Free Offerings

After creating an HPE Learner ID at https://certification-learning.hpe.com/tr/getStarted you’ll then visit, HP Aruba Free Offerings to see a series of courses aimed at getting started with networking and the Aruba platform.
